From the reviews:“This book examines coral reefs from A to Z in five parts … 29 chapters, with most of the chapters appearing in the biology, ecosystem, and disturbance sections. Spencer, Choice, Vol. Each chapter typically begins with a short abstract, followed by detailed contents. Academic, professional, and general readers, all levels.” (L. Summing Up: Recommended. … a good reference source for all levels of readers, from nonscientist to professional researcher …Over the last three decades, coral-reef study has advanced rapidly, widening our understanding of their functional intricacy. The roles of the various organisms that make up the reef community, in the harvesting, assimilation and transformation of energy and in the uptake, storage and recycling of nutrients, are analyzed. In each of these research fronts, former accomplishments are summarized and evaluated, and likely future foci are identified. Special attention is given to the interrelations of the different problems and processes which are important properties of these systems.
Coverage is given of recent advances in the understanding of the ways in which abiotic forces - like hydromechanics, light and nutrient regimes - have shaped the evolution and development of coral reefs. A better understanding of coral reefs is therefore essential to their survival.
This volume is built around the key problems underlying the understanding of the structure and function of coral reefs as ecosystems. The ways to conserve coral reefs in the face of the increasing impact of various anthropogenic stresses are evaluated.
This will be the central reference work for specialists and advanced students, active in all aspects of coral-reef research, and will provide them with a balanced, stimulating view of the many facets of contemporary coral-reef science.

It will require some serious planning to get the topics into an order that actually makes sense. The story is told entirely from the main character's point of view, which I really enjoyed, as the constantly switching perspectives of most new fantasy works often annoy me. He gets an offer to purchase an old suit that is haunted and buys it, resulting in ghostly, gory havoc that transpires across several states before he is able to extract himself and his 30 years junior Goth girlfriend from the murderous intent of the ghost that is tormenting them. Finally, rather than providing a listing of a whole lot of supplements that can be taken, he actually provides details of what he himself takes and specifically recommends.. After all, he's a good kid, but he doesn't know the ropes. I love it when the good guys beat the bad guys, with a happy ending. In our case, my wife and I have been to Yellowstone and Grand Teton four times, with a fifth trip coming up in two months. The book has shown me a few things I wasn't aware of, but as a new fan of the EJ&E, that isn't saying to much.I know Arcadia doesn't seem to like anything but black & white images in their books, but with the bright green & orange color scheme of "The J", I think they should have added a
