This book is of particular interest as I am a Mortgage Trader at a regional investment banking firm. Karina is witty, worldly and wonderful and this is by far one of her most enjoyable offerings because you can't help but sense that she had a blast writing it. Love to work with him to find the vanished Ginger and get her back in his life. The initial thoughts from the character are a mixture of immature and insightful. I didn't realize this book was written by Stephen King's son until I read some reviews! I thought the authors picture looked familiar. Among the pluses I found with this book were: Written by an M.D.who has the training & experience to author such a book Published in Dec of 2010 so quite current Small enough of take along whether traveling on a trip or slipping in a diaper bag when overnighting with family or friends, or just out shopping Also with its size, it would be easier to initially scan the book so in an emergency situation it would be easier to locate needed information ASAP in the bookI might add, both copies were very well received by my grandchildren who have babies . Follow a little boy's backyard safari as he shares his love of bugs--from fly-around-the-light bugs to curl-up-tight bugs; fun springy leapy bugs to slimy creepy crawly bugs. With a bouncy rhyming text and colorful collagelike art, this book is perfect for miniscientists everywhere. Many of the creatures are larger than life and have expressive faces; most are smiling except for the fierce-looking one that sends the boy running. The rhyming couplets describe how bugs move, how they sound, and what they look like. . Delighting in the natural world, the boy is amazed and awed by the variety of creatures that can be found under logs, in hives, in the grass, and fluttering through the air. Large, brightly colored spreads convey an exploring child and his discoveries. Best of all, though, are the eight-legged, hairy, scary ones that send him squealing. All rights reserved. From School Library Journal PreSchool-Grade 1—A young child pays tribute to the critters in his backyard that creep, crawl, leap, or fly. "I love brightly-colored-wing bugs/and stripy swipey sting bugs," he declares as his picnic lunch is taken over by butterflies, yellow-jackets, and a dragonfly.
